Pedrooooooo!!!

Mi buen amigo Pedro Pérez Valiente al fin prepara su primer comic con una editorial. Y la afortunada ha sido Dibbuks, que han sabido ver lo que ya muchos sabíamos: que Pedro está aqui para quedarse.

Plegaria

Ya que la exposición está inaugurada, y aunque algunos aun no la han visto, pongo la versión a color del primero de los dos dibujos que he hecho a propósito de "El Monje". Mi intención era dejarlo a blanco y negro, pero las condiciones eran que fuese en tonos azules, y con acuarelas, en concreto, con "aguadas azules". Esto es lo que he hecho, con lápices acuarelables, y témpera blanca sobre papel canson azul, y es que lo mio no son las aguadas, la verdad.

Now that the expo is already open, and even if some people still doesnt saw it, I publish here the colour version of the first of the two drawings I made inspired in the book "The Monk". I had the purpose of doing it just as pencil over white paper, but the conditions were that the works had to be on "blue watercolors". So this is what I did, watercolor pencils and white tempera over blue canson paper, because I'm not much of a watercolor artist, really.

La Máscara de la Muerte Roja

Y entonces reconocieron la presencia de la Muerte Roja. Había venido como un ladrón en la noche. Y uno por uno cayeron los convidados en las salas de orgía manchadas de sangre y cada uno murió en la desesperada actitud de su caida. Y la vida del reloj de ébano se apagó con la del último de aquellos alegres seres. Y las llamas de los trípodes expiraron. Y las tinieblas, y la corrupción, y la Muerte Roja lo dominaron todo.

Pd. Hacía tiempo que no me pasaba, pero no estoy seguro de si me gusta este dibujo. Veo cosas que me han dejado contento, como la cara tapada del personaje, pero otras que no se si están bien. Asi que me someto a su juicio, señores y señoras, sean indulgentes.

And one by one dropped the revellers in the blood-bedewed halls of their revel, and died each in the despairing posture of his fall. And the life of the ebony clock went out with that of the last of the gay. And the flames of the tripods expired. And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.

PS. This is new for me, I'm not sure at all if I like this drawing or not. I see things that I trully like, as the face of the shrouded character, but others that I'm not quite sure if I nailed what I wanted. So I submit myself to your judgement, ladies and gentleman. Please be indulgent.

El Monje 2

Este y el anterior del mismo tema, en su versión a color, los podréis ver en La Semana Gótica de Madrid, que se celebra a finales de este mes, en la plaza de Felipe II, cerca del palacio de los Deportes. No tengo ni idea de si hay que pagar por entrar, pero el autor recomienda a los que leen este blog que se cuelen, que entren por la cara, y a ser posible con camisas de leñador, que les gustan mucho a los góticos esos...:)

Pd. También pondré aqui las versiones a color, pero despues del evento, asi os doy un motivo para hacer acto de presencia.

This and the last one of the same theme, in the color version, will be exposed at the Gothic Week of madrid, which will be celebrated this month, in the Felipe II square, next to The Palacio de los Deportes. I have no idea if there is a fee for the entrance, but the artist recommends to enter without paying, and if you can, with a lumberjack shirt. Goths really love them...:)

Salgo de mi letargo para enseñaros el primero de cuatro dibujos que preparo para una exposición colectiva que prepara la Asociación Profesional de Ilustradores de Madrid sobre el libro El Monje, y que estará expuesta en el museo romántico de madrid. Daré más detalles pronto, pero tal como lo veis, este será el aspecto definitivo de las ilustraciones. Ya que es técnica libre, y la temática es la que es, me da que le pega, no se si estaréis de acuerdo. Si no lo estais, no voy a cambiarlo. No me daría tiempo igualmente, pero vamos, que os escucho..:P

I come out of my letargy to show you the first one of the four drawings I will do for the collective expo that the Proffesional Association of Illustrators from Madrid will do abut the book El Monje. It will be dont in the romantic museum of Madrid. I will give more details soon.
As you see it, is how it will be, just in pencils. The technique was free, and being the kind of book that it is, I think it fits it. And if you disagree, I wont change it, I have no time anyway, but hey, I listen to you..:P

Monkey-Monster

En un homenaje a Perez Valiente, para celebrar que nuestro amigo pronto publicará en Francia, hago lo mismo que él, y un alter-ego mio va a decir una frase. Eso si, el mio será Monkey-Monster, (vale, no se me ha ocurrido un nombre mejor), que es un mono robot, y hay que hacerle caso.

Ahi lo tienen, señores. La portadaza a color del Capitan Galaxia. Portadaza ahora si, por los tremendos colores de Miguel Ángel Abad, que me ha hechado un cable, y qué cable!
A falta de poner las letras del título, les dejo que admiren la creacion. Yo he juntado las partes de la criatura, pero Miki ha conectado la corriente y le ha dado vida.

PD. Por cierto, que se me olvidaba, quiero dedicar este post a Santiago Navarro, que ha fallecido recientemente. En lo que le conocí, nunca dudó en dar buenos consejos y decir lo que pensaba, era honesto.
No puedo pensar en nada mejor que decir de alguien, la verdad.

There you got it, people. The impressive cover of Captain Galaxy. Impressive now because of the master colours done by Miguel Ángel Abad, who gave me a hand, and what a hand he haves!
Still without lettering, but good enough for you to admire the creation. I put together the parts of the creature, but Miki turned on the light and gave it life.

PS. By the way, I almost forgot. I dedicate this post to the memory of Santiago Navarro, who passed away recently. As far as I knew him, he never hesitated to give good advices and say what he thought. He was honest.
I can't think of anything better to say about anyone.

BOOM!

Esto es un mensaje claro a los guionistas del mundo, especialmente a aquellos que vean mi trabajo y les pase por la cabeza pasarme sus guiones. Soy un profesional, puedo dibujar cualquier cosa, y si no se, aprendo. Pero si la historia tiene monos gigantes, miren lo bien que va a quedar, ejem ejem.

This is a clear message to the world writters, specially to those who see my work and think about letting me read their work. I'm a pro, I can draw anything and if I dont know how, I learn. But if your story gets some giant robot ape, look how good it will look. Cough cough.

Ay que no, que no tengo abandonado el blog, demonios! Es solo que entre ciertos dibujos que no puedo enseñar, otros que no me gustan tanto, y que mi pc está frito, (este es un viejo portatil que hay que apretar la letra "o" como si clavases una chincheta), no me salia nada que poner.
Pero un mono ciborg gigante es harina de otro costal.

Hey no, I don't have the blog abandoned, dammit! Is just that some of my latest drawings cant be posted, some others doesn't look that good, and my pc is broken, (this is an old laptop where I have t press the letter "o" like if it was a thumbtack), I had nothing to post.

Adela Mogorron, aka my mother.

Hoy es el cumpleaños de mi madre, y a pesar de parecer un tipo que no se gasta un duro en regalos, ya que este año los regalos a mi padre y a mi novia han sido un óleo y un dibujo, creo que ella tambien se merecía uno, o al menos el esfuerzo de intentarlo.
Lo mio no son los paisajes, pero se que a mi madre le gustan asi que éste es el resultado de irme un dia al fantástico parque del Capricho, en Madrid, y hacer unos pocos bocetos.
Ojalá fuese capaz de sintetizar más cuando dibujo fondos, pero de éste acabé satisfecho, que no es poco. Feliz cumpleaños, mama!

Today is the birthday of my mother, and it could look like im a guy who spend no cash on presents, since the last ones to my father and my girlfriend were a painting and a drawing, I think she deserved one too, or at least she is worth the effort to try it.
I'm not the kind of artist who is good at backgrounds, but i know my mother likes them, so this is what i got after spending a whole nice day at the park of El Capricho, in Madrid, and make a few sketches.
I wish I could synthesize more when I make backgrounds, but at least this one made me feel satisfy, which is not few. Happy birthday, mom!

Pues eso, una de las viñetas de lo que a todas luces es una prueba sin éxito para un cómic de Star trek. Aunque lo mismo estoy hablando de más, y al final les gusta, ya que estaban indecisos antes de ver la prueba a tinta. De todas formas, se que el viejo Jean-Luc está conmigo.

Well, this is one of the panels from what looks like as a failed test for a ST comic book. But maybe I'm talking too much, and they like it at the end, since they were not sure when they saw just the penciled pages. Anyway, I know the good old Jean-Luc is with me.

Vale, se que me tocaba la E, pero he abocetado algunas caras de los personajes de Star Trek (La nueva generación) para una prueba de una editorial americana. Esto no es lo que comenté hace poco, es otra posibilidad más. Veamos cuantas pelotas puedo mantener en el aire, hop, hop!

Ok, I know, it was time for the E, but I sketched some faces from the Star Trek characters (The New Generation) for a test on an US editor. This is not the possibility that I've talk about lately, is just one new chance. Let's see how many balls can I keep flying. Hop, hop!

D de Darkseid!

Perdon por el retraso! Tengo algo de trabajo atrasado sobre la mesa y solo he podido hacer este dibujo para la D.

C de Constrictor!

Bueno malditos, puede que Bêlit no me quedase tan bien, pero el movimiento se demuestra andando, y aqui está el siguiente. No es Conan, no es el Castigador, es Constrictor! Un personaje un tanto patético, que pasa de villano de segunda a héroe de tercera segun el comic en que lo leas, pero que lo recuerdo dibujado por Sal Buscema y por Mike Zeck fenomenalmente, y que siempre me cayó bien, al menos tiene las narices de enfrentarse a unos cuantos héroes sabiendo que le van a patear el trasero.
Si que se aceptan peticiones, aunque no lo parezca, pero algunas me inspirarán más que otras, espero que lo entiendan!
Por cierto intentaré volver al ritmo diario pronto, pero tengo una ilustración que terminar con caballos, soldados, mosquetes y espadas, y el cliente ya ha sido muy paciente!

Well you damned, maybe Bêlit wasn't quite well done, but movement is proved by walking, and here is the next one. He isn't Conan, neither Punisher (name starts with C in spanish), he is the Constrictor! A bit pathetic character, who moves through secondary villain to even worse hero depending of the comic book he is in, but I remember him awesomely done by Sal Buscema or Mike Zeck, and I always respected a guy who haves the guts to face some heroes knowing they will kick his ass.
I do accept petitions, really, but some of them may inspire me more than others, I hope you understand it!
By the way I'll try to come back to the daily rythm soon, but I have an illustration to finish with horses, knights, guns and swords, and the client has been already too patient!

Test

Bueeeno, esto es sólo un test para ver qué conseguía disolviendo algun gris de los copic makers, pero ni la trementina, ni el alcohol o la lejía han hecho mella en estos rotuladores. Asi que he usado la vieja témpera blanca y algun toque de ordenadorl. Conste que me interesa cada vez más manchar antes de entintar, pero aun tengo que dar con el método adecuado.
Ah, y sobre 1945, como veis, lo enseñaré poco a poco, por ahora decir que una editorial ha mostrado algo de interés. Pablo y yo no desfallecemos.

Weeeel, this is just a test to know what could i get by dissolving some grey from copic makers, but neither turpentine, alcohol or bleach could land a hit over those greys. So I used old white gouache and some pc touches. I will note that im more interested lately into give some grey spots before ink, but I'm still looking for the right way.
An and about 1945, as you saw, I will show it little by little, by now just saying that one editor has shown some interest. Pablo and me are still standing.

Luces...camara...

gatos, musica y monos.

Ahem, sólo ha pasado una semana, espero que no se haya hecho muy largo. Aunque no lo parezca, este dibujo forma parte de algo, pero quién necesita razones para dibujar gatos dentro de botas militares?
Por cierto, inspirado por blogs más musiqueros que este, incorporo banda sonora a Lapiz, Tinta, Acción! Está puesta en modo aleatorio, y podéis explorarla, o pararla si molesta. La selección está hecha con más o menos acierto, pero salen canciones de monos, así que no puede estar mal.

Ehem, it has been just a week long, I hope it was not too much waiting. Even if it looks like as ifnot, this drawing is part of something else, but who needs a reason to draw a cat inside a militaryboot?
By the way, inspired by more musically alike blogs, I add a soundtrack to Lapiz, Tinta, Accion!
Its on random mode, and you can explore it, or stop it if you dont like it. The selection is done with some weird criteria, but there are monkey songs in it, so it can't be wrong.

The Right Hand of Doom

Ya he vuelto de Barcelona. He necesitado un tiempo para asimilar bien el viaje; Para empezar ha sido divertidísimo, acompañado de viejas y nuevas amistades como Miki, Perez Valiente, Diego, Nines, Lidix, Pablo Navarro, David, M... y me dejo unos cuantos. Pero entre todos hemos pasado unos dias divertidos y agotadores, y míticos.

Lo principal del salón, si atiendo al corazón, ha sido la presencia de Mike Mignola, que dió una conferencia y una Masterclass que nos dejó a todos los que las vivimos con ganas de más, y nos demostró que está a la altura de su obra, respondiendo siempre con paciencia, y con inteligencia.

Y lo principal del Salon, si atiendo a la razón, ha sido el éxito del proyecto que he llevado, "1945". Dos editoriales están interesadas, y pronto pondré más material. Esperemos que pronto pueda dar noticias más concretas, y que me sea dificil actualizar el blog, eso querrá decir que estoy ocupado..:)

Pd. Gracias a Manolo Mandianes, que nos acogió amablemente en su casa (a miki y a mi), y al que desde aqui le devuelvo la mención.

I already came from Barcelona. I needed some time to process the travel; For a start it was extremely fun

being together with some old and new friends as , and I forget a few ones. But among us, we had some great,

tiring and mythic days.

The main part of the Comic Con, if I hear my heart, was the presence of Mike Mignola, who gave a conference and

a Masterclass that made everyone there want more, and he proved to be on a par with his artwork, answering always with

patience and intelligence.

And the main part of the Comic Con, if I hear to reason, was the success of the project "1945".

Two publishers are interested, and soon I will show more drawings about it. Let's hope I can give more accurate news soon,

and to be so busy that updating the blog becomes a hard task..:)

Parchelona, allá voy!

En lo que casi parece una aventura de Silvio José, me voy a Barcelona junto con 5 o 6 dibujantes, o más, he perdido la cuenta.

Vamos Diego Cobo, Perez Valiente, Miguel Ángel Abad, Nines del Rio, Lidia, y alli nos juntaremos con unos cuantos amigos, como Antonio Cuesta, juan Antonio Ramirez, Rafael Sandoval o Cal. Además cada uno va de una manera, hoteles, casas de amigos, familiares...Luego todos nos juntaremos para ir cada uno a visitar editores, acosar dibujantes, repartir tarjetas y muestras de trabajo, y al fin cada dia, tomarnos unas cervezas en la playa.

Estará el increible Mignola, que por si alguno no lo había notado (y hay que ser miope, oiga), es mi dibujante favorito desde que colecciono cómics, más de 20 años desde que su Alpha Flight y sus portadas de los X-Men me hicieran buscar su obra compulsivamente. Asi que espero no desmayarme.

Enmarcaré hasta el más simple garabato que me haga.

In what looks like an adventure of Silvio José, I go to Barcelona with 5 or 6 artists, I lost the number.

We go with Diego cobo, Perez Valiente, Miguel Ángel Abad, Nines del Rio, Lidia,and we will meet there with some other friends as Antonio Cuesta, juan Antonio Ramirez, Rafael sandoval or Cal.

Also each one will go in a different way, hotels, houses of friends, family...Then we will join together to visit editors, give samples of work, cards, cds, stalk some artists, drink beer and lay at the beach.

Also the incredible Mignola will attend to the event, and if someone did not noticed it (you blind ones), is my favourite artists since I collect comics, more than 20 years ago since his Alpha Flight and Xmen covers that made me look for his work as a crazy. So I hope not to faint.

I will frame the smallest sketch he wants to make me.

1945-1

Bueno, se acerca el dia de irse a Barcelona, y hay que ir ultimando cosas que llevar. Esta será una de las 2 páginas del proyecto "1945", más conocido como el de "El chico y el mono". Para la semana que viene, si los dioses de la prisa me sonrien, las tendré listas a tinta y color. Esta ha necesitado dia y medio, a ver la segunda.
Por cierto, Nines me comenta que no puede ver mi blog desde Internet Explorer. Yo comprobé que no le pasaba sólo a ella, y al final he encontrado la causa. Si no tienes la última actualizacion del Adobe Flash Player, el Explorer casca en mi blog, no en ningun otro, manda webs. Ahora que si usais Mozilla, Chrome, Safari o cualquier otra opción a Explorer, no tendréis este problema.

Well, the day to go to Barcelona is coming, and I have to finish the things I will carry there with me. This will be one of the 2 pages Ill show from the "1945" project, more known as "The kid and the monkey". To next week I have to get them done inked and colour. I needed a day and a half for this one, let's see the second one.
By the way, Nines told me that there are trouble to see this web from Explorer, and I checked its completelly right. But I found the reason. You must update the Adobe Flash Player for your Explorer, and it will work, or open the blog from another web browser as Mozilla, Safari or Chrome.

Annabel Lee

Desde la Asociación Profesional de Ilustradores de Madrid, van a intentar promover un acto en conmemoración de Edgar Allan Poe en la FNAC de Madrid, que aun no tiene fecha. Asi que no puedo dar más datos, pero este boceto es una de las ilustraciones que aporto a dicha iniciativa.

From the Proffesional Illustrators Association of Madrid (APIM), they will try to make an event at the FNAC of Madrid, to commemorate the year of Edgar Allan Poe, that still got no accurate date. So I cant give any more info about it, but this sketch will be part of the work I will do for this initiative.

Más proyectos, es la guerra!

Proyecto aun sin nombre para un público juvenil. Al guión, el insigne Pablo Vara, y al dibujo el que suscribe. Saldrá un mono, un chico misterioso, un viaje que tendrán que recorrer, y un mundo, o mundos, que descubrir. A ver si gusta.


Project still without name for kids-teens readers. At the story, the notorious Pablo Vara, and the art by the one writting this. There will be a monkey, a misterious guy, a travel that they have to walk, and a world, or worlds, to discover. I hope people likes it.

Anatomy studies are back!

Tiempo invertido, alrededor de una hora. Está hecho a partir de una referencia fotográfica. Y qué demonios, me lo he pasado muy bien haciendo la espalda de esta supermujer.
Ahora, a comer pesto, a beber cerveza, y esta tarde a cerrar el viaje a Barcelona, yipi-yay-ye!

Time invested, more or less one hour. Done from photo reference. And what the hell, I got a lot of fun drawing the back of this superwoman.
Now, time to eat pesto, drink a beer, and this evening to get the tickets for the Barcelona trip, yipi-yay-ye!

Estefanía

Este es el óleo que le he hecho a Estefanía de regalo este año, no lo he puesto antes porque soy peor fotógrafo que...bueno, que nadie, soy el peor. Y me ha costado dios y ayuda que me saliese la imagen nítida, que los colores estuviesen ajustados, y que estuviese la imagen perpendicular a la cámara.
Hacia bastantes años que no pillaba los pinceles, y la verdad, lo he pasado bien, aunque me ha costado unas 20 horas.
Pd. En vez de palo para apoyar la mano, he usado una katana de madera, como los buenos dibujantes ninjas.

PD3. Me gusta más de cerca que de lejos, asi que añado un detalle de la cara.

This is the oil painting that I made for Estefania as present this year, and I did not show it before because I am worse photographer than...well, than nobody, I'm the worse one. So I needed a hell of patience and help to get an accurate image, in details and colours, and not distorted.
Was long time ago when I made an oil on canvas for the last time, and to be honest, I had my fun, but I needed 20 hours of work more or less.
Ps. Instead of a stick to rest my hand, I used a wooden katana, like the good ninja artists.

Pater

Esta es una de las dos ilustraciones que me han tenido liado estas últimas 2 semanas. Era para el cumpleaños de mi señor padre, y he mezclado algo del estilo de la propaganda de los años 40 con la idea de usar una portada ficiticia de comic, donde salimos mi padre, my hermano y yo. Por suerte me ha salido bien y le ha gustado. Aunque a mi hermano le tengo que compensar, ya que es el que menos agraciado sale, cuando es un tio resultón.
Pues eso, felices 59+1, padre, y a los demas cumplidores de abril, que hay muchos, felicidades también.

This is one of the two illustrations that kept me busy this last 2 weeks. It was for my father, and I mixed some of the stile of the 40th years propaganda with the idea of using a comic book cover style (from the spanish comics from when I was a child), where my father, my brother and me are the main characters. By luck I made it well and he likes it. But I'll need to compensate my brother, since he is the one who was done worse, and he is a good looking guy.
Well, that is, happy 59+1, father, and to everyone else whose bd is this month, happy birthday to you too.

Pues eso, que siento la falta de actualizaciones. Entre que algunas cosas que estoy haciendo no quiero enseñarlas hasta que no las entregue, y otras que son regalos, y que no estaria bien ponerlas aqui antes de que la persona regalada las tenga, pues el blog se queda sin hacer.
Planeaba dibujar algo bien trabajado, y decir algo inteligente, pero estoy algo cansaete, y solo me ha salido este señor que parece decir "miren miren, qué de actualizaciones tienen esos blogs linkeados a la derecha, o lo que es lo mismo, mi izquierda!"
Pd. Los doblajes de Gran Torino son de aupa, imagino que han visto a clint viejo y han pensado que no les va a meter un tiro en el culo por semejante aberración. Espero que se equivoquen.

Launchpad

Entre todas las cosas que me inspiran y que son grandes, como los chimpances, o los viajes en el tiempo, o incluso los monos viajeros del tiempo, hay una que me atrae especialmente, y sobre la que me atreveré a escribir un guion más tarde o más temprano. O al menos sugerir un argumento para que un guionista capaz me lo ensamble y le de algo de sentido. Los años 50. En concreto la Guerra Fria, los diseños de la época, tanto rusos como americanos y lo bien que se presta a la ficcion del "que hubiese pasado si".
En fin que no es un proyecto ni siquiera cercano, pero que sepais que esto caerá algun dia, vaya que si!

Among all the things that inspire me and that are great, as monkeys, or time travel, or even monkeys travelling in time. There is one that attracts me over many others and which I will dare to write something someday. Or at least suggest a story for a capable writter to assemble with sense. The 50 years. More exactly, the Cold War, the designs of those years, both russians and americans, and how good they fit into "what if" kind of stories.
So, its not an even close project, but know that I will do it someday, take my word!

Light Study

Porque no siempre voy a poner tias, hoy le toca a un pequeño estudio de luz que he hecho antes de ponerme a trabajar (qué coraje!), a un tipo en una postura algo graciosa.
Y como no siempre me tengo que quejar de algo, paso a recomendar algunos de los nuevos links que añado al blog, y ya van tropecientos.
Pasa la Vida. Es un blog que habla de lo que me interesa, ilustraciones, ciencia, música, fotografía, e historia. Se actualiza muchísimo y se lee bien.
Kieran Yanner. Un ilustrador que trabaja en cartas de juegos de Sony, no solo domina el color digital, sino que dibuja bien, y es un gran tipo.
Estarse Quieta, blog de Ester, que hace ilustración infantil, sabe reirse, y hacer amigos.

*Actualización1: Ando preocupado por el color, y como darlo en las paginas que preparo para el cómic con Pablo Vara, asi que he probado a colorear en photoshop sobre los grises del dibujo. Tiene cosillas que me gustan y otras que no tanto, pero este podría ser el camino.

Update1: I am worried lately about colour, and how should I do it on the pages I will do for Pablo Vara, so I've try to colour this one over the grey tones with photoshop. Not bad, it haves some parts that I like, some other that not so much, but this could be the path.

La paella improvisada siempre está mas buena

Me han pedido una prueba de una página en plan Dungeons and Dragons, o Señor de los anillos. Como no tenia guion, he hecho lo que me venía en gana, qué menos?! Espero que guste, yo me lo he pasado bien. Y he tardado 2 dias.

I've been asked for a trial of a page in D&D or Lord of the Rings style. As I had no script to use, I did whatever I wanted, what the hell?! I hope you like it. And I needed 2 days for it.

ioputa (Actualizado)

Este es el primer logo que he diseñado para la productora de Pablo Vara y Juanjo Verga, Producciones Ioputa. Como veis es el mismísimo Ioputa, en pose muy ioputesca. A ver si gusta a la muchachada.

*Actualizacion: El logo ha de ser más simple, asi veis el proceso de simplificacion. Cuesta borrar los detalles que a uno le gustan, pero a veces están de más.

*Actualizacion 2: Añado un cuadro con todos los posibles logos hasta el momento, ustedes lo disfruten.

This is the first icon that I designed for the Pablo Vara and Juanjo Verga movie production company, "Producciones Ioputa" (ioputa in spanish is like "sonofabitch"), so he is the Ioputa, in a very "ioputesque" way. I hope you all like it.

*Update: The icon must be more simple, so you can see the simplifying process. Its hard to delete some details that I like, but sometimes they are not adding anything.

Criogenics in Calipso= Calippo

De vuelta a lo realmente importante, las chatis.
A bordo del Calipso, la criogenización de su tripulación se llevó a cabo por un sistema que rebajaba el metabolismo al 0%, combinando el ahorro de la preciosa energía que impulsaba a la nave, (ya que no precisa más mantenimiento que el de un buen almacenaje), con la longevidad de los pasajeros, virtualmente eterna. Una técnica que combina criogenizacion, hibernacion y campo de éxtasis (al ser un comic erótico, el extasis es importantísimo...), pero que conlleva una gran fragilidad. De no ser revertido el proceso apropiadamente, la vida de la tripulación estaría en peligro, pero éste era el único metodo que garantizaba la supervivencia de los seres a bordo de la nave en un viaje que ya dura millones de años...

Back to what really matters, the chics.
On board of the Calipso, the cryogenization of the crew was done by a system that lowers the metabolysm to 0%, combining the saving of the precious energy that impulses the vessel (because it doesn't needs anything else than appropiate storage), with the longevity of the passengers, trully everlasting. A technique that combines criogenics, hibernation and stasis field (here I can't translate the spanish word joke, I think its not possible in english, but it wasn't that good..:P), but it entails a huge fragility. Unappropiate reversion of the proccess can mean the death of the crew, but this was the only system wich guaranteed the survival of the beings on board of the ship on a travel that lasts now for millions of years...

Wild Horses

Planeaba dar contestación en esta entrada a una discusion que he mantenido en otro blog. Una contestación entre caballeros, explicando punto por punto mi postura.

El que me conozca sabe que me encanta discutir. A veces es apasionante, y otras decepcionante. Pero a veces la vehemencia puede inflamar la más apasionante de las discusiones con expresiones desafortunadas, y como ese ha sido el caso, prefiero cerrar aqui la discusion aclarando un poco mi postura ante el tema en cuestión.

Baste explicar que mantengo una postura escéptica ante muchas opiniones que otros dan por ciertas, y esto en ocasiones ofende. Basicamente me encanta la ficcion, la literatura y el cine de ciencia ficción y fantasia, pero no siempre traslado esa pasión al mundo real. Por no creer no creo en dioses, hadas, zombies, ovnis, chamanes, curanderos, esoterismo, horóscopos, milagros, libros sagrados, o profetas. Esto es, exactamente lo que me encanta dibujar, o sobre lo que no dudaría en crear una historia, y como no, en leerla.
Supongo que una postura tan heterodoxa me garantiza cierto grado de polémica, asi que como dijo Conan, al final lo que importa es que unos pocos se enfrentaron a muchos.

PD. No hay caballos en el comic erótico, es que estoy con varias cosas a la vez, y tengo una ilustracion que hacer donde salen caballos y soldados.

I was planning to answer on this post to a discussion started on another blog. A conversation among gentlemen, explaining my point of view.
Those who know me know how much I like discussions. Sometimes is exciting, and sometimes disgusting. But sometimes vehemence can flame the most passionate of discussions with wrong words, and as that was the case, I prefer to close the discussion here explaining my position
on the mentioned matter.

It's enough if I explain that I take a skeptical stand over many opinions than others believe as true, and that sometimes hurts.
Essentially I love sci-fi and fantasy books, comics and movies. But I do not translate always that passion to real world. For example I do not believe in gods, faeries, zombies, shamans, witch doctors, esoterism, horoscope, miracles, sacred books or prophets. Which is, exactly what I love to draw about, or what I wouldn't doubt about create a story, or of course, read about.

Taking a so unorthodox stand guarantees some degree of polemics, I guess, so as Conan said,
all that matters is that a few stood against many, that's what's important.

PS. There are no horses in the erotic comic book, I'm just doing many things at the same time, and I have an illustration to do with horses and soldiers.

Ahi dejo una de las razas de aliens que saldrán en el comic erótico que preparo. Aqui no he visitado páginas de la NASA, ni he investigado la posible evolucion de especies en terrenos extraterrestres. Aqui queria que hubiese una jamona, pero en alien.

Here you can see one of the alien races that we will show in the erotic comic-book im making. Here I didn't visited the NASA web, or investigated the possible evolution of species in extraterrestial environments. Here I just wanted a seexy girl, but alien.

Selene

Bueno, pues os presento la primera versión de Selene, la protagonista de Calipso, y capitana de la nave del mismo nombre. El guión correrá a cargo de Pablo Vara, del que por cierto, deberia estar todo el mundo votando sus cortos finalistas en notodofilm.es, y el dibujo será cosa mia. Aun tengo cosas que diseñar, pero tampoco estan muy lejos ya las primeras páginas.
Espero que a todos os guste, que os sea tan neumática, inocente, experimentada, excitante y divertida como lo es para mi.

Well, I meet you the first version of Selene, the main character from Calipso, and captain of the ship with that very name. The script will be done by Pablo Vara, who by the way should be getting your votes for his short films on the notodofilm.es festival, and the art will be done by me. I still have things to design, but the first pages aren't very far away.
I hope you all like her, and that she be so curvy, innocent, experimented, exciting and funny as she is for me.
